The time of the greatest darkness but also the time of the greatest hope - the time when we have the opportunity to be the most fertile in the depths of our Soul. Under the ground the earth silently sleeps and rests before Spring returns once again.
The Ancients celebrated and honoured the Solstice time as the end and the beginning of the year and they waited in Stone Circles and forest groves for the first light of the newborn sun - the promise of the New Year to come.
