Karen's experience receiving the Munay Karpay in Cusco

Receiving my first Initiation, Munay Karpay, at the beginning of my journey on the Shamanic path, took place at the Temple of the Monkey, Cusilluchayoc, (connected with the heart) It was believed to have been built or used during the 15th-century Inca era as a sacred ritual and ceremonial site.

Maestro Justino Apaza, whose family are the descends from the Inca transmitted this first Initiation and it was when I felt the full force of energy from his lineage!

Walking through the grove of Eucalyptus trees, the first site of this sacred space feels like you are I another world - a group of boulders hide the small cave where my Initiation took place - a heart shaped stone altar indicates the deeper meaning of this Sacred place

It was the first of the three big Initiations she received; Munay, (The Force of Love, Power & Will, Yachay (The force of knowledge - connected to the Third Eye), and Llankay (The Force of Action & Work - connected to the belly) and to say it was transformative is an understatement!

Tracey - Receiving 2nd Initiation

Tracey received her 2nd Karpay, (Yachay) at Camino Inka~ Wanakauri, a ancient sacred site, up in the Mountains surrounding Cusco, at high altitude with Maestro Salamena

During the transmission of this Karpay, Tracey was told that the 3rd Karpay , Llankay, was arriving through this transmission also, as spirit guided this.

The Visual gifts that came through after the Karpay were received even surprised the Shaman delivering..9 Condors, small ones, possibly babies were flying all around the mountain where Tracey & her Shaman were seated. This is known as a very very profound gift, to see 1 Condor is special, but to see 9 is an incredible honour.

Maestro Salamena was guided by her Inca Ancestors to gift Tracey her Unkuna to add to her Mesa, Unkuna in Inca shamanism refers to the subconscious realm associated with dreams, intuition, and shadow, known as Ukupacha. This world is one of the three cosmological realms in Inca belief, emphasizing the importance of inner exploration and spiritual growth. This medicine was to be shared at home in Australia

Munay Karpay - the first of three big Initiations from the Incan tradition which transfers the energy of the Universe to the student or client. Munay Karpay is in contact with the energy of the sun, the mountains, mother earth, love and the deep vibrations of your heart. We are all born with a seed of love within us and when the power of Munay comes to you, this seed is reawakend.

During the Initiation, the Shaman forcuses on opening the Nine Temples that you carry within. These Temples are places of holy forces, inner strength and your deepest feelings

The Shaman will call back the essential pieces of self that you have lost in moments of trauma and integrate these with your Soul

During the Initiation the Shaman uses the life-force of the breath to bring in holy wind that activates and transmits the powerful energies. This Initiation involves speaking to and reconnecting with the Ancestors and also helps you come into contact with past lives

As you walk your path and are initiated through the Inca traditions, you will be walking side by side with the Medicine Women and Men that have walked this path before you - a lineage of Shamans who have stepped outside of time.

To receive this Initiation is to receive holy force and warmth through the power of the Andes

Learn how to build your Mesa with Karen & Tracey

A Shaman's Mesa is a portable altar (where he goes to meet the spirits) or medicine bundle used for

healing, ceremony, prayer and divination.

The Mesa is a fundamental element of the Mountain Shamanism practice.

Originating from the Paqos of the Q’ero in the high Andes mountains of Peru, this medicine bundle includes khuyas, or stones, from each of the sacred apus or mountains. Collecting these khuyas from these locations forms sece lines or ley lines. These are energetic threads that enable the owner of the mesa to integrate these places into their energy body, allowing the Paqo or person of power to tap into the strength of these locations during their healing practices.

You will learn more about this throughout the day.
